Dutchmen Seeking 2016 InternsBy: Ryan Murphy The Albany Dutchmen have begun their search for interns for the 2016 PGCBL season. The Dutchmen are seeking motivated and energetic individuals to comprise this season’s crop of interns. Former Dutchmen interns have gone onto work for such organizations as NESN, the University at Albany, NYSPGA, the Albany Devils, Ave Maria University, WSRQ Radio, the College of Saint Rose, and more. Front Office- Dutchmen front office interns will receive experience in a variety of different areas. Interns will participate in group ticket sales and promotions, drawing fans to the ballpark on a nightly basis. Front office interns will also be highly involved on game day, whether in the concession stand, selling merchandise, or in general game operations. This group will rotate to different assignments throughout the season, leading to a full experience. Community Relations- Throughout the season, the Dutchmen are active throughout the Capital Region, and interns in this department will lead the charge in this endeavor. Community relations interns will help coordinate events in the community, and assist with player and mascot appearances. The community relations department would be at the forefront of the team’s efforts in the community, as well as developing relationships with groups in the community, both at and away from the ballpark. Broadcasting- As many as two interns will form the Albany Dutchmen broadcast team for the 2016 season. Dutchmen home games are live streamed with video and an audio stream is provided for all road games. Former Albany broadcasters have called games at the Rose Bowl, the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, the City of Palms Classic, and more. Last year’s broadcasters were selected to work the PGCBL All-Star Game in Little Falls as the official league broadcast. The team will also be in need of a public address announcer and an on-field personality. The public address announcer will serve as the main in-stadium voice of the Dutchmen, and will coordinate music and sound effects throughout the season. The on-field personality will also be a main in-stadium voice as the leader of the team’s many on-field promotions during games. The personality will interact with fans and players alike as part of their duties. In addition to more specialized assignments, Dutchmen interns will all be involved in promoting the team within the local community, as well as planning some of the great promotions on the 2016 home schedule. For more information on Dutchmen internships, or to apply for a position, contact VP/General Manager Jason Brinkman at [email protected]. Applicants for broadcasting positions should provide a sample of previous broadcast work. |
