The Cure Baseball Named Official Charity of PGCBL

By: PGCBL Release

Syracuse, NY (April 17, 2013) – The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League has named The Cure Baseball its official charity for the 2013 season.  Founded by one of the former Utica Brewers, The Cure Baseball is a non profit organization that strives to positively impact the people and their families who have been affected by types of cancer.

It was made official at the PGCBL owners meeting last Saturday with a unanimous vote to adopt The Cure Baseball, and its mission to raise support and awareness for all types of cancer, as the charity the league will support and promote throughout the entire season. All the PGCBL teams will wear The Cure Baseball’s Stick It To Cancer Helmet Stickers on backs of their helmets.

“This is a very big step for The Cure Baseball. It’s an honor to partner with such an established and respected league in order for us gain more awareness to in turn be able to help save more and more lives affect by cancer.” said Alex Paluka, The Cure Baseball’s founder.

The Cure Baseball was founded in 2011 on the principle that the game of baseball can drive a significant effort to bring a sports community and disease that inevitably touches everyone together to create an organization that truly hits home with people.

"Each and every one of our teams is an integral part of their community. But, the PGCBL is more than just a collection of teams. We feel we help mold great ballplayers and great citizens. Alex played for one of our teams while in college and like many of our former players has gone on to do wonderful things off the field. We are proud to support The Cure Baseball." stated Jeff Kunion, PGCBL President.

The Cure Baseball, Inc.is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that strives to positively impact the lives of people and families who have been affected by cancer through a collegiate summer baseball team, specialized support groups, and donations to prestigious cancer research centers affiliated with college and university medical schools.
